What classes are there?

At the BB-DanceCamp there are 3-day classes for Boogie Woogie and Lindy Hop and 1-day classes on special topics such as Aerials and Solo Jazz as well as other swing dances such as Collegiate Shag and Balboa. In the afternoons, you may attend one-hour tasters, which are usually open to all dancers, regardless of dance type and level.

Which levels are there?

There are classes for Intermediate, Intermediate/Advanced, Advanced levels and ballroom dancers (depending on the class). The first lesson on Saturday is a level check, in which you can try out whether the chosen class suits you, and if necessary change to another level. Unfortunately, there are no beginner classes.

Do I need a partner?

You can register with or without a partner. In the classes, dance partners are changed regularly anyway, so that single dancers also get their money's worth. The only exception is the special class on aerials, for which you have to register with a partner for safety reasons.

As we make sure that the ratio of leaders and followers in the classes is balanced, there may be waiting lists for individual classes and roles.

In principle, anyone can register as a leader or follower (assuming the appropriate level in the role), regardless of gender or sexual identity.

How do I find my way around on site?

The BB-DanceCamp mainly takes place on the grounds of the Sportzentrum. There you will find the information desk, Swing-Diele, parties, shop and halls 1-3. There are other halls for the various classes, which are usually within easy walking distance and are signposted. You can find an overview map here.

Where can I stay overnight?

You can book a room at the camp hotel with special rates, camp at the sports centre, or find your own accommodation. You find more information here.

Dancing makes you hungry – and then what?

You have to organise breakfast and dinner yourself – either at one of the restaurants in Landsberg or at one of the supermarkets. At lunchtime and in the afternoon, we offer snacks and drinks at our kiosks and in the Swing-Diele.

PLEASE NOTE: Bavarian selling times for supermarkets are about 7:00-20:00h on Saturday (limited by law). After that, there is no shopping opportunity. As Sunday and Monday are public holidays, all shops will be closed.

How will the parties look like?

At the Friday Hop, we have a relaxed dance on Friday evening in the Swing-Diele. It starts around 20:00, or even earlier if there are enough dance enthusiasts.

For the Shake That Rhythm Night on Saturday and the Sunny Side Hop on Sunday, there will be two dance floors - a large dance floor in the hall with a live band and a smaller one with a DJ in the Swing-Diele. On Saturday, the live band will focus more on boogie, on Sunday more on swing from the 30s and 40s. In the Swing-Diele, the other style of music is played more respectively. However, you can (and we encourage you to do so) dance any swing dance to any style of music, and we are happy to see a colourful mix of dances and dancers on both evenings.

On both evenings there will also be show acts by the teachers. A special highlight is the choreography of the Kidz, which will be shown on Sunday evening between 20:00h and 21:00h.

And for those who are still fit when the musicians have already gone to bed (or are on the dance floor themselves), the afterparty in the Swing-Diele will keep you going until the early hours.

I'd love to join, but I'm not sure, if I can afford it...

Have you already thought about becoming a volunteer? Since the BB-DanceCamp is organised entirely by volunteers, we are always looking for support. Volunteers get tickets to the classes free of charge or at a low volunteer rate and, depending on the area of work, also accommodation and meal allowances.
