Live band: Cherry Casino and the Gamblers
The Band was put together in spring 2001 and made their first public appeareance in august 2002 and went down very well. The boys have built up a huge following of fans, all over Europe. It´s a rather tough task to try and categorize the music of Cherry Casino and The Gamblers. It certainly is music to dance to and have fun with but also music that features a heavy after-beat and a breathless singing style that listeners of all ages can enjoy. This is the mixture that has helped Cherry and the boys zoom to the top and gain their world-wide reputation as one of the hottest bands in the rock and roll genre!
Mix&Match competition Boogie Meets Lindy
In Mix & Match competitions (formerly also: Jack & Jill), the dance partners are drawn by lot directly before the tournament. No choreographies are performed, but all random pairs dance simultaneously, similar to social dancing, while being observed by the jury. Apart from dance technique and timing, teamwork and creativity will be judged.
To register, you do not need to bring a partner. You don't need any experience in competitions either – even if you are at Intermediate/Advanced level, you can still take part. It's all about having fun and the excitement of dancing and improvising with (probably) unknown dance partners in front of an audience to unknown music. A Mix & Match competition is also a great opportunity if you would like to get a taste of competing without too much pressure.
NEW: This time we mix Boogie and Lindy dancers!
Since the concept of the Lindy Mix&Match 2023 was so well received, we are going one step further this year! We're not only mixing amateurs and professionals, but also styles (Boogie Woogie and Lindy Hop)! Who dares?
Criteria are a good 'connection' between leaders and followers and harmonious basics, creativity and, of course, fun. Our wonderful BBDC camp teachers will act as judges.
Registration
Please register until Thursday, 16 May 2024, via this registration form. Registration is also open to dancers who are not taking part in the workshops.

Process
Preliminaries
The preliminary round for the Mix&Match will take place on 18 May 2024 at 8.30 p.m., i.e. BEFORE the offical start of the party. We will meet at 8.15 p.m. in Hall 3 in the Sportzentrum. You will dance with 3 different dance partners at medium tempo, with all dance couples dancing at the same time. Each dancer will be judged individually. You can therefore get to the finals independently of your dance partners.
Finals
The 6 finalists (3 leaders and 3 followers) will dance to 3 songs in different tempos (slow, medium, and fast) performed by our live band during the party. Each finalist will draw one of our professional dancers by lot. You dance the complete final round with this partner. The couple will be judged as a whole. So it's not just the individual performance that counts, but also what you make of the dance as a couple.
Prizes
Great prizes await 1st-3rd places, such as free tickets for other dance camps.
